Planting trees, feeding families and changing lives

Planting trees, feeding families and changing lives

You may have heard, or read on our website, about how each bag of coffee purchased plants a tree through our membership with 1% For The Planet. But what exactly does that mean and how do we do that?

First off, when we started Rebel Pine we knew we wanted to follow in the path Patagonia (a company we admire greatly). Their mission statements says, "...use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis." And their founder, Yvon Choinard, and Craig Mathews from Blue Ribbon Flies, started an organization to support this mission called 1% For The Planet, which empowers and encourages businesses to donating 1% of SALES (not just profits) to environmental organizations around the globe.

There are tens of thousands of charities you can donate your money to. At Rebel Pine we've decide to select a different charity each year to donate our 1% that also supports our mission of growing trees in deforested areas and providing jobs and opportunities for struggling communities.

This year we have chosen Trees for the Future, where they believe "Planting trees provides families with more than just food. It provides income, empowerment, unity, leadership, education and even saves lives. When we can teach people to value themselves and their environment, they see amazing improvements in their standard of living."

We could continue to wax poetic about why we think this organization is so rad, but instead, how about you just watch these videos?

You can help with our donation, not just with bags of coffee, but also by purchasing our travel mugs, stickersAeroPressAdventure Bundles, and other items we will be adding to the store soon.

Together our coffee adventures can build Forest Gardens all over the world!
