In January 2017, the USA Men’s Rafting Team set their sights on breaking a legendary speed record down 277 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Their goal was 34 hours... 34 hours of rowing. Created by gnarly bay.
The speed record was initially set in 1983 in a little wooden dory called The Emerald Mile. Kevin Fedarko told this story in an incredible book called "The Emerald Mile: The Epic Story of the Fastest Ride in History Through the Heart of the Grand Canyon". I highly, highly recommend it.
